Event Description

The new plan is to meet at Walnut Woods State Park. If you are not sure where this is, click on the map link above.

We will meet up at 1:45 and leave at 2pm. The drive will take around 30-40 mins. We will follow Grand Ave in to the downtown district, circle the city hall building then go back and cross the Des Moines River, and finally drive to Bauders (Pharmacy) Ice Cream Parlor.

It looks like there could be some evening showers Saturday. At this point I think they may hold off during the rally.

Comment by Julie Adams on March 24, 2010 at 12:17am: The park on the north side of the river is actually called Raccoon River Park, which is located at 2500 Grand Ave. Walnut Woods is located south of the river.

We won't be able to meet you for ice cream (shoot!) but we'd love for you to come on down to the Polk County Convention Center and meet Christina and promote smart! How cool would it be for everyone to see the smart rally drive into the green event...what a message!!!

I am hoping to set up a demonstration event (for potential smart owners) a couple weeks later as I will be visiting Des Moines on a personal trip anyway. If anyone knows a smart-friendly business that might let me have a demonstration there, please let me know. (If you can suggest a contact person, that's even better!)
