Event Description

This year we will give Stephen Foster State Park a chance. We will meet at Cracker Barrel off of I-10 and Chaffee Rd at 4PM. From there we will cruise as a group to Stephen Foster State Park. From I-10 to US 41 North (Milepost Exit 301-Old Exit 43), travel 9 miles to White Springs. Park entrance is on the left.

Visitors can enjoy the holiday sights and sounds as they drive through the park to see unique holiday light displays, including the majestic oak trees adorned with thousands of lights, an antebellum Museum dressed in full holiday splendor and a gingerbread village located at the Gift Shop and Craft Square. The centerpiece of the park’s light display is the Carillon Tower, which illuminates the night sky standing more than 200 feet tall, dressed from head to toe in lights as holiday music rings from its bells.  The StephenFoster Museum will be open extended hours until 8:30 p.m. nightly. Cousin Thelma Boltin’s Gift Shop will be open everyday until 9:00 p.m. where complimentary refreshments are served and the Craft Square comes alive with a bonfire and marshmallow roast for everyone.  Wolverine Concessions will also feature delicious treats including favorites such as hot chili, hand made potato chips and their world famous fried Oreos!

Live holiday music will be performed at the Stephen Foster Museum nightly from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.  If any school groups, church choirs or other musical groups would like to perform, they should contact Diane Simmons at 386-397-2733 for more information.

Santa will visit the park every evening through December 24th and will make appearances throughout the entire park during the festival.

Visitors can experience the festival via horse drawn wagon and carriage rides.  Two large beautiful Percheron Horses will pull a large wagon on a one mile ride around the main park drive each evening. Take a leisurely 20 minute ride through the park and sing carols while viewing the millions of lights on display!

For those of you that want to see the Suwannee Light Parade again, about 11 miles away, Vicky and I will be heading there after the Stephen Foster lights. Cost of the Stephen Foster event is $2 per person. Cost of the Suwannee light parade is $6 per person. The Suwannee event is much bigger. The stephen foster event has more after the light cruise, so I have heard. Anyway, Vicky and I are going to be doing both and you all are more than welcome to join us on both of them.
