Tired of waiting/tired of dealer B.S...I'm cancelling

I'm tired of waiting, but more so, I'm tired of dealers attitudes. Over pricing orphans by more than $2300.00 worth of options (fixed pricing/non negotiable) just to boost their greedy profits, selling to anybody that walks in the door, but not concerned with people like us that have reservations. Complaining to Smart USA is useless as well, they have no control over the dealers that sell their cars(?????what?????).....oh yeah, and the orphan list that MY dealer has with all the names on it with people looking for orphans.......well, forget it....they NEVER call, but yet they have overpriced/priced gouged orphans all the time. So I wish all of you good luck with your cars and good luck with all of you who have more patience than I.

Hey there White Wabbit! Not only is it Friday and after 5 ... it's almost 2000 hours here. Me and da man person have shared a bottle of Bearboat Pinot. I have made Washington Apple Martini's for each of us, Godiva chocolate martini's for each of us, a couple of Long Island Ice Tea's that I had most of and he had a taste of .... since 5 this evening. Just took a breathalyzer. I'm only at .07. But I'm not suppose to be drinkin with my meds so don't tell. ~winks~ {That was spose to be a funny.} Guess if I didn't have my orphan and I was still waiting that I'd be a lot more angry and vocal at the moment. I can empathize. But I can also understand the dealership side and wanting to make more of a profit.

As usual? I'm lost, dazed and confused.
Oh, And thanks LeLapinBlanc for the kind comment on my Scarlet Macaw. He is 2 yrs. old and well behaved, excellent talker and will be my life long friend!!
I work for Chrysler.

I remember when the first minivans hit the market in the 80's. The dealers were selling everyone for $2000 over MSRP. Chrysler ask them not to sell them over MSRP, but they have no control over dealer pricing. The excess pricing only lasted about a year... then to MSRP... finally to discounted prices.

As a Chrysler employee we were not able to get a company discount until the second year of production.
I agree with Bob Parr. Back when the RX7's came out in '79 there was a long waiting list, markups, etc. Two years later, we got one for less than MSRP.

For those not interested in an orphan, two things could move up your order quickly:
gas prices tanking (people have very short memories) and an increase of imports (think they are already doing that). Once the supply increases, you will have lots of choices.

Good luck!
LeLapinBlanc,
You bring up psychology---Im sure you have had far more sessions than anyone and should realize by now how bad you need help and medication. You must be a danger to yourself and those around you.
One definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again while always getting the same, unwanted, result. Keep posting LLB- it's the only way we can keep eye on you! By the way- lots of SMARTs on Ebay this week- You could seriously get one by Monday.
Hey Jim,
You crack me up. Im still laughing over the mushrooms.
It's a "SMART" car- on one said anything about smart drivers. When everyone drives a SMART car then everyone will be a SMART driver
WELL, LELAPINBLANC HAS TOTALLY LOST IT! Can anyone make sense of his most recent ramblings? He talks about birds, rabbits, college degrees, and being followed. Can you tell me if he means he is being followed around by well educated rabbits and birds or what? He also brought up money, so I take it that either the birds and rabbits are financially secure or they are trying to take his money and get him to leave. I just hope they are able to make him leave! Im going for a drive in my smart now.
BUT YOUR DREAMING---YOU WILL NEVER GET A SMART CAR! Im sure the people in St Louis have passed the word along about you to Chicago, Louisville, and everywhere else. They will see you coming. Like Jim said, check ebay, its your only hope.
I am not sure that I understand LLB's obsession with the smart to the point that it seems to ruin his entire life that he does not have one yet.
I don't understand either, why if you believe that if smart could increase the delivery time by only three months by giving reservation holders first pick on orphans that they should do it. I think that you are most likely the only person desperate enough to take a car unlike the one they special ordered to their specs just to get it three months earlier.
If you are so bothered by all of this, I don't understand why you don't just buy a car somewhere? If you want one so bad, you can have one tomorrow. Just plunk down your money and buy. If it is this important to you the price difference would be nothing compared to all the therapy you are going to need after driving yourself into a frenzy over car that you probably really don't want anyway...you just think you do. My suggestion is to move on with your life, forget about smart for a while, and don't let this bother you so much. If getting a car is a "fix" that you have to have right away, then go down to your local automall and pick something out.

I have been waiting for 10 months myself, but when I ordered the car I was aware of the way that it all worked, and I think that if you, or anyone else, are not happy with the way it works, I think you should cancel your reservation, go over to Toyota and ask if you can reserve that new IQ they have coming.

If you are not happy with the process now, what is your life going to be like when the car breaks down and you do not get the service you feel you deserve from your dealer. I would think that the way you have badmouthed them here, they would refuse to repair your car and refer to a different dealership.

I know at this point for me, even though I am within a couple months of getting my smart car, I am thinking of forgetting about it until it gets here so I don't end up on this site and reading the unreasonable and insane rants of people that can't handle the wait. This is not Burger King.....
Hey Jeff, I think he has been banned from all of the Burger Kings in his area along with alot of other businesses that he has been thrown out of or been removed from by the police.

LeLapinBlanc, Do you really think anyone cares what you majored in since you have never been able to hold down a job anyway. Im sure you got your check on the 3rd, so cant you just be content with that. Go watch your cartoons and play with your stuffed animals or whatever you do with them. (Also you cant spell, check "subtraction", so stay with math and playing with stuffed bunnies, freak).
