I'm curious if anyone else ordered a cargo cover when they purchased their Smart. I ordered it as an add-on from the dealer back in the beginning of April, and it has been back-ordered (or so I've been told) ever since. Anyone receive one yet?
I got one when I picked up my cabrio in Feb.
The front "curtain" is velcroed to the floor, keeps things from sliding behind the seats.
The retractable cover keeps things out of sight (hopefully out of mind as well?)
Works as advertised.
I got one last weekend. Very useful. I was told they were back ordered a couple of times, including last Saturday from sales. But I had previously e-mailed the parts department and been told they were available. Sure enough, when we walked back to the parts counter, they had them in stock.
It took almost a month for me to reveive mine but I think it`s a must have. I know my dealership said that they sell out everytime they get them in stock. Very happy with mine.
A month before I picked up my passion coupe, I purchased the cargo cover and floor mats from the smart center Lynnfield, MA parts department. They noted it was the last one they had and more were backordered. When I picked up my car the cover and floormats had been installed at no extra charge. It seemed a bit strange to own accessories before I had the car to put them in, but I'm glad I did. So many people look at my car when parked, it is good to keep the boot space out of sight.
By the way the picture is my coupe parked next to my sister's Escalade!

I'm happy to report that I *finally* got my cargo cover (after almost 6 months). I called to check status on it yesterday, and the reply was "Oh, we were just about to call you!" Since they directed me to the Parts Department, I have a feeling that if I hadn't checked up, I would never have received it. In any case, I think it's a nice addition if for no other reason than it'll keep things from falling down behind the seats.
Yes, a picture would be good. But I've also seen 2 types of "covers". One is the "roll-out and hook" type ( a true "Cover") Where the other is a hard surface "divider". So that you can actually place pkgs on top of the cover.
I've seen 2 prices as well.
1. Cover @ approx $200, also the cargo net separately@ approx $50-60.
2. Then I've seen this "Divider" with the net for $399.
