My "Ladybug" was purchased as an "orphan", originally ordered by someone else, so it didn't come with all the options I would have originally liked. Now that it's really c-c-c-c-o-l-d in Chicago (a high temp of minus 4 today with minus 27 degree wind chill), I wish I had a remote starter to warm the car up prior to driving. I've been quoted $499 from my Smart dealer to install an after-market remote start. Does anyone else have one? My old Ford Escort had a remote start that started both the heater and the air, but the remote for my husband's Mustang only starts the heater, not the air. Since this is our last winter before retiring to warmer climes, I hate to spend the money if it's not going to work for air on the Smart.
