Rocks on Windshield?

Anyone having window problems? I'm just sick about the two rock dings in my window in the past month. One is moving across the window. I'm having it checked out tomorrow. I'm just wondering if the straighter windshield and closer to the front makes it more susceptible to rocks. Or do I just have rotten luck?

My first smart, a 2008 was in my possession for 7 months with not even a single rock bouncing off the front. My second (2009) lasted just under 2 months before it got hit by a city bus bouncing a rock onto the windshield. The crack formed in about 5 min and spread across the whole windshield within an hour.

I drive the same roads daily for the last 15 years to and from work. My previous vehicle, a 1999 Expedition never once had the windshield replaced. I think it does have something to do with the height and length of the front of the car. Maybe to some extent that some people pick on smarts for being so small.
