Unusual comments you've had about your smart car.
I have had alot of comments about my smartie. A lady that I work with had a really good one. She asked me if my car came with the glue when I bought it and how long did it take me to put in together. I had not heard that one before and I thought that it was very witty and original.

I've only had my '09 cabrio for one week (hey, one week today !!), but I've heard comments while driving down the road !!
Being mine is brand new, I still have a paper license taped to the rear window. If I put the top all the way down, it looks like I have NO plates. Well, actually, I don't.....
So the most common comment I get is, "Is that street legal ?". When I reply yes, they always say, "I don't see any plates on it, so I didn't think so."

I just recently ordered the "Pull to inflate" handle and decal from smartmadness.
That'll take at least one joke away from 'em !!
I'd like to set up a video camera and see how many people actually pull the handle !!

My wife and I had just pick our smart up earlier that day from the dealer. We had a two hundred and sixty mile drive home. During a stop in our trip a couple of good-old-boys asked "Is that a family car?" To which my wife replied "For a family of two!"
Another one a just got today. "You should have left it on the vine."

Finally we passed a few more times and we got out still chatting...you could see he had something on his mind to share...so he burst out with "hey, um cute car...So where did you get the tires for that thing?...From a donut shop??!!!! Hee, ha, ha!" Without skipping a beat I said 'Sure, actually I just baked them up fresh this morning!". He got a big hoot and a holler out of that and you could tell it was eating him alive waiting for us to get out so he could comment...he was pleased with himself...I was happy to oblige!

Another little joke from my jealous still coworker who takes any opportunity to poke at my car he can get. He was talking to a boss from the other rep group in the Home Depot and he came to me saying that guy referred to me as driving a "fart car". It was in a odd way funny.

Having picked it up on May 5th, I arrived to work the next day stating "Yeah... I went to a Cinco De Mayo party last night. When I whacked the pinata, this fell out!".
So far, of those who've commented, 50% have "cute" comments and love it, 20% have rude (unsure of their masculinity type) comments and 30% aren't quite sure.
I have to admit that my 1st comment when I saw one was that it was reminiscent of the Original "Baby Bootie" Honda Civic. Anyone remember those? (grin)

My cousin drove up, parked beside it, got out, asked where the other half was, then took about 10 steps and looked back, thenstated.."I know...it's a pregnant roller skate!"

I get all of the usual comments.. but the other night I got a new one..
A girl was looking at the car.. and saying that she loved it.. wanted one..etc..etc..
Then she got a puzzled look on her face and asked.. "But, does it sound like a lawn mower?"
she honestly thought that the smart would make the same noise as a go-cart!
