Greetings, all. I have set up an event on the calendar here, for an event to be held at the Tail of the Dragon, in Deal's Gap, NC, on the weekend of September 26-27.

Seriously thinking about attending... I wanted to go with the Miata club.. when I had a miata..
I wanted to go with the VESPA group last year, but didn't..
Now I have a SMART...

Anyway... i am looking forward to it.. and will likely attend.
Please let me know if any Smarts will be camping, and if so is there an "official" campground for the event.
I hope to see HUNDREDS of smarts there.. .:-)

Louis
New Orleans...

P.S.. if any other smarts from TX, LA, MS, etc. are going we might be able to set up an ole fastion '70s CONVOY.. :-)

Louis,
Greetings, and thanks for the inquiry. I have had at least one other inquiry about camping at the Dragon event. We have not set up an official camp site, since the event will center around the hotel, but that isn't to say that your shouldn't camp (and I, for one, would be interested to see how you outfit yourself for this, since I am a camper myself - I just haven't gotten to the point of camping with my smart yet). If you need help locating campsites around Deal's Gap, let me know, and I'll locate some for you.
As to seeing hundreds of smarts, I doubt it (and I am not sure if I could handle that many for this first event - I got to see what 32 smarts were like when our local club got to drive a few laps at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Charlotte - right now we have 43 smarts registered, and if we get to 100, I will be surprised, and a bit frightened! ;-)

Anyway, make sure you go to the event site to sign up. Once you do (if you haven't already), you will receive a form to sign up for the Saturday Night dinner (if you want to attend), plus pre-order stickers and t-shirts.

Hope to see you there!

Hello Gary and all ... Looking forward to this extended weekend. I just ordered new wheels n tires for my smart. I hope to have them on by next weekend so I have some drive time on them before heading north. See you then.
