Maintenance/reserve fuel staus

I'm unable to see my reserve fuel status by "repeatedly pressing" the button on the left side of the cluster. I have to push the button 3 times within about 1 second to see the maintenance staus, but it won't show the reserve fuel. The manual says it will. I don't want to wait till I'm on reserve to see it. No other issues.

I have pumped over 9 gallons before it clicked off for the first time (this has happened more than once) and I have gone over 12 miles with it reading 0.0 too...

I made it to a gas station and that was all that mattered to me at the time.
