I just got my smart car a few days ago (bought it used). But I am noticing that when I am sitting still (like at a stop light) my RPM's are at 1. To me it seems that it is idling high. Is this normal or is this something that needs to be looked at. Shouldn't it be a little over 0? Just asking because I don't have a lot of experience with the car yet.

Pretty much every car I have owned has an idle speed of around 1000rpm. What other car have you driven that has a lower RPM idle speed?
After nearly two years mine now idles at around 930 rpm according to the ScanGauge. It's a little higher when first starting up - around 1050.
Thanks Dan O - maybe it is just not broken in yet, it only has 11,000 miles on it. Someone else told me the same thing.
