Thanks for the picture! I think it would be very exiting to have a few more models on the showroom floor. I think it would help build awareness to the Micro Compact segment.
Good looking automobile. But judging by the size of the rear door, it doesn't appear that the back seats can hold an adult. Just small children or packages.
Hello all! Just joined the ranks of smart owners on the 1st of March when my trusty, but old Mazda passed on. I've been lurking on this board for a few months, but just HAD to join finally to comment on this post/ pic. That four door Smart concept/picture is AWESOME! Smart would probably see sales go up by offering a four seat smart, however small the back seat may be. The original forfour was an okay design, but it never seemed to me as unique as the fortwo we all know and love. If Daimler is able to keep the fortwo "theme" across a range of vehicles, a la MINI, I think the smart will be profitable for them as an auto line. The number one comment I hear all the time is the complaint that the car only has two seats. For me, it's not an issue. This pic is great and I hope good things are to come for smart in the USA. I too would have LOVED to buy a diesel, but it's not available here, of course. Hang in there smart/ Daimler and keep promoting the product. I think once the iQ comes out, more Americans will start to get comfortable with these smaller vehicles. I love mine!
One focus of the alliance will be on sharing the development and production of chassis and engines. That cooperation will include developing a common chassis for the smart fortwo and Renault's Twingo.
