I just came across this great story online. Mr. Mathieu St-Pierre is about to embark on a journey to one of the northern-most points in Canada in a smart fortwo. Take a look at the link below. This is going to be a great story to follow!
Nice! I hope they document this with photos. I wonder if this is a new fortwo or an older 450 model (since he's in Canada where they were available)? Might even be diesel.
They were sandwiched between 4 SUVs and equipped with spare tires and other rescue devices.
Whoever attempts such epic journey up North alone with such backup, are putting she/he Smart toys in jeopardy;smart is only good at EU metropolitan life.

Franoc, i seriously hope that you just go away. You have no interest in the Smart, and have absolutely zero knowledge about it, either. Disappear like we wish most of the other spammers would.
I read a really similar article before I bought my smart. I think it was written by one of the other journalists in the convoy and he was surprisingly pleased with the trip. I seem to remember something about how it was a mild winter for Canada, but still it was January and nild for canada is probably the same as severe for much of the US. He said the cars handled well and they really only had problems if the snow drifts were too high, which, I imagine, would be the same for any car.
Franoc is still jealous because he has been unable to sell his Yugo.... LOL
