Hello,
We just joined the Smart revolution a week ago with a new 2013 Passion. Today i noticed the service flap was out of the upper groves and I'm curious if any of you have seen this befoe, or if I have a vandal on my hands? The flap does flex quite a bit, but its hard to imagine that it could pop out on both sides? I have a suspicion that someone was looking for the engine. We do live in Manhattan, but the Smart has only been parked in garages so far, never on the street.

Thanks!

John K

I'm also in Manhattan, also parked in garage. four years with previous smart and never had the "bonnet" come loose. four months with the new one and no issues there.

guess the collective wisdom at this point is to do a quick walk around when you pick up the car each time, check for obvious low tire pressure, loose service flap, I sometimes have to move my mirrors back out, etc.

Hi dennyrex, Thanks for the advice! Yeah, I don't mind the mirrors being moved so much, at least I feel they are making an effort not to hit anything. Glad to see another local. I'm on the West side and see many Smarts on the streets. Do you take advantage of the Icon parking deal?
