We had a question posed to us regarding whether or not a smart is a good practice vehicle for teens just learning how to drive:
“How many smart car owners have taught their teens to drive with a smart and found it easier to do so?"
Do any of you have experience with introducing a young driver to the open road via your smart? Does the car’s navigation, driving style and size make it easier or harder for someone who is not familiar with how to drive? Please share your thoughts with us in the comments section!
Haven't taught anyone how to drive in a smart. However, I'm amazed that smart USA has not pursued a tie-in with some national driving school (AAA?) to use the smart in drivers education programs. To me the smart is perfect for this task - small, maneuverable, automated transmission, great visibility and above all, excellent safety features. Not only would this be a great experience for the kids getting the training but it would be free publicity for the smart brand, a win-win situation.
