Last week, I saw an article online that was showing how a group of people tip the smart fortwo up on it's back door and walk away from it. It seems to be a problem in San Francisco, CA. This trend really scares me as a potential buyer of a smart fortwo. The article also said that many cars had been rolled onto their sides as well. Has anyone else heard about this, and what, if anything, can be done about it?
Much ado about nothing IMHO. Certainly not a reason to avoid buying a smart.
This is a random act of vandalism. I was told that the people who recently did the smart flipping in SF were caught by the police. The news media loves reporting these incidents. I hope they report the fines and sentence that the perpetrators receive, once convicted. I wouldn't be too concerned about it. All has seemed to have quieted down.
