At long last I was finally able to bring my new "baby" home this past Friday.... "Stumpy"... He was worth the wait. Hope to be able to join you all soon for an outing. Have a great day!

it was rather sad me and huey were just going down the road no pot holes no nothing just side blue out and poor huey had to ride on a tow truck.. but he is all better now, I am thinking when it is time to get new tires for him I am going with run flats that is if they make them in those sizes...

No, don't think anyone else has had that problem. Several of us (me included) have bent the wheels by hitting a pot hole and I think Larry Schmitt may have had a blowout due to a pothole.

Hi Everyone,

A big thank you to all that attended the Peach Festival Parade. It was a great outing and very well organized. Fun day for all! I wanted to remind everyone to watch for the flyer this week on the July 24th Summer event. Steve has put in a lot of work planning a great time for all.
Stay safe - stay Smart! Susan

Just wanted to send out a reminder that we will all meet in the morning at the Clanton Peach Water Tower between 7:30 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. If you are coming from north of Clanton, this will be your first Clanton exit – Likewise, if you are coming from south of Clanton, this will be your last Clanton exit.

We will depart from the Water tower (service station across the street from tower) at 7:45 a.m. to proceed to the line up area. They have asked that we decorate our cars in a “peach motif” and Ernie Rains will be bringing a decoration to go in your rear-side window. (I also went out “on line” and found a good picture of a ripe peach and ran copies of it off, which I plan on taping in various places on my car.) Additionally, we can throw candy at the parade. If this parade is the same as similar events, we can expect to sit in the line up for up to an hour, so you may want to bring you a small cooler of beverages/snacks. (See page 2 of the attached document for other details on the parade)

Howard has sent information that there will be BBQ plate lunches available after the parade for $7 per plate and there will be other vendors there as well. As always anytime the Bama Smarties get together – we will have a great time.

If you need to contact me tomorrow, I can be reached on the cell phone at 205 410-1230. I look forward to seeing all of you tomorrow!

FOOD FOR THOUGHT
We discussed going to the Shrimp Festival, Gulf Shores for late September, but I don't think that will be a viable plan now. A couple of our members have brought the Smart Trail of the Dragon run up and it looks very interesting. Please check out this website and let me know if you are interested. Hope so, as I am very interested!

It has been a costly week for my Smart (who currently has 48K miles)
New brakes $220
New front tires $303
Freon for the A/C - put in by a friend for no charge
New rear tires/front end alignment $166 (not same place as front tires)
Back on the road now and feeling much safer with the tire and brake replacement. Just wish it had not all came within a one week period. :(
