Have any of you, or do you know of any Brabus owners who have put the 4 light fog/drl in the Brabus.  I got the lights and plugged in the fogs to the pre-wired harness in the car.  The computer will not accept the program to activate them.  Then, the drl comes with 3 wires.  One goes to the fuse, one is a ground, and the third goes?  The lights come without instructions and the dealer can not figure them out.  Thanks in advance

I am still looking for a snow tire, and all I can find are the all weather. Anyone else having better luck?

I can't imagine the brakes being larger. I mean... the front wheels on the Brabus and the standard Pure/Passion/Cabriolet are both 15". The only difference wheel wise is the Brabus has 17" rear wheels.

I also have a Brabus and I am pretty sure the brakes are the same size on all 451 smarts. I will measure the discs and drums on a friend's Passion and get back to you.

I talked to the people at Tire Rack and was informed that the brakes are larger on the Brabus and therefore the stock rims will not fit and they do not have a wheel for the Brabus. Tire Rack suggested Discount Tire and Nokian Tire, neither of which have a snow tire in our size. Looks like another winter on the all weathers.

As much as i hate to say it.... you're better off either getting a new set of cheap rims (Think TireRack has Rial rims for the Smart) and snow tires. I went to a local tire shop where we've always had great service.... and he couldn't find any snow tires for either the front or the back for the stock rims... and could only really find basically the stock tires that come with the Brabus. I was lucky enough to be able to buy a complete set of 4 Rial rims and barely used snow tires for $300 from someone who had sold his Smart. Haven't had the chance to use them yet though.

As for whether 2 or 4 are better... y ou'd definitely want two for the drive wheels.... but as for the front wheels, it's hard to say. They might help with grip as you're rounding a corner, but on the flipside, the front tires ARE quite narrow which by Smart's definition also helps them get traction in snow. Also have to consider that there isn't quite as much weight on the front wheels as there is on the rear drive wheels. Or... there's also the idea that the standard tires on the Brabus seem to be more of a street tire than an all-season.... which could account for some of the potential issues in the snow. I wasn't able to get out of my driveway last winter without it being plowed.... but then again the only time i really got to try doing so without it being plowed was when the snow was deep enough to be over the cars ground clearance, so the front basically acted like a snow plow that didn't have contact with the ground... and the tires just got completely packed with snow til they were smooth as silk.

Have any of you put on snow tires? If so, did you put on 2 or 4? The reading I have done suggests putting on 4, but with the unique tire sizes we have not sure where to get a set

I bought a set of Falken 452 this time last year. Haven't used them yet. I haven't noticed any cracking on the Hankooks but now I will have to give them a closer look. The Falkens LOOK almost exactly like the Hankooks. No idea how they handle. Also they were only $150/pair last summer. Now they are $180 EACH and only a few are listed. Go figure.

My rear tires are cracking and should be replaced. I can not find anyone who makes both sizes except for Hankook which came on the car. Has anyone mixed tire brands and if so how did they work

interesting brake lamp switch depiction on the www.evilution.co.uk web site Apparently lives in its' own waterproof housing under the floor. The chamber even has its' own drain that some times stick shut from the mold release agent, therefore trapping water. It appears to be more than just squirting in a drop of wd 40 you have to gain access first. Interesting read though.
