So, our last meet-n-greet didn't go so well.  I arrived at the Central Market Cafe at around 1:30pm and waited until 2:30pm.  When 2:30pm came around and not one smart in the parking besides mine, I figured no one was showing up.  I did learn a valuable lesson though while waiting there.  That location at that time of the day is not optimal for a meet-n-greet since parking there is a nightmare.  I drove around the parking lot for a good five minutes to locate a spot to park (and I am not even talking about finding a good spot, just a spot period).  I also thought that since the meet-n-greets weren't going so well, I had better try another tactic.

So, I have decided to try a caravan to the hill country wineries.  I experienced the wineries for the first time a few months back and thoroughly enjoyed the day.  The beautiful drive out there, the super cheap wine tasting events, the tours, and the fantastic food that is offered at some of the wineries.  On March 6 2010, CenTex will be staging at the Barton Creek Mall (2901 S Capital Of Texas Hwy Austin, TX) in front of Sears (closest to 360) at 11:00am and leave at noon for a beautiful drive through the hill country via RR 967.  The drive will take about an hour to complete.  Our first stop will be at Driftwood Estates Winery (my favorite of the ones I have visited) and from there, we can obtain a map of the vineyards and decide where our next stop will be (taking in account others favorite stops).  We can spend the entire day at Driftwood or make several stops at many of the other locations.  We can decide as the day progresses

If you would like to join in on the fun filled day, please email me at centexsmartclub@yahoo.com so that I know to wait for you before we set out on our journey.  Hope to see everyone there!

Absolutely Bruce, the more the merrier. In fact, I might invite some of my non-smart friends (would that make them dumb friend?) to follow us. I have a couple of people that love to drive out to restock their wine cabinet.
