so i had to change my headlight, but the orange bulb infront needs to also, i cant seem to get a good grip on it, has any1 ever had to change that bulb, maybe can help me at the next meet

We are going on that Monday, I don't expect anything from smart it was like pulling teeth the last time so I no longer look to them to support us as we sell their product for free in our journeys.

   Some have been asking about service centers other then the dealer and I have been going to Acorn tires at 6200 N. Lincoln (Lincoln & Mc Cormick) for my service. The did my brakes on the 5th for $520.00,which is $300.00 less than Loeber's. I had a "clicking" sound start on last Saturday went in today and was fixed and on my way in lees than an hour w/o an appointment. Next week they are doing the oil change.

Are they going to give us anything for showing our keys?  (I use the smart carry bag everyday that I got two years ago when we paraded over.)

Fred,

The reviews are mixed. Some folks say you absolutely need them, others say they are not needed, some like myself say can't hurt, probably would help.

I've been through two full winters and find the car has trouble when starting up after a full stop at an intersection or turning lane where there is 7" or more of compacted snow. What I mean by compacted is this; snow that has been driven through or plowed from a main thoroughfare across the turning lane of the street your currently on. Our cars are very light and when challenged with "thick", heavy snow they struggle to get started after being stopped. Know you will also lose some traction when changing lanes and driving over windrows of snow. No big deal if you are aware, anticipate and adjust accordingly.

I’ve only been stuck once and it was my fault because I was testing the car to see how much snow it could handle before being stuck.

As an aside I carry a folding shovel, tow rope and screwdriver (to pop the cap off the tow hook thread) and know where my tow hook is located because it always a good idea to be prepared.

I don’t have snow tires and use my smart (the professor) as my everyday car. To me the bottom line is - if you drive intelligently you will be OK 99% of the time.

ok so i need tires, i have put it off too long, i got a nail in the front right plus they r balding, so now with it winter, do i have to have snow tires, just so i know b4 i go and buy the others

JUST TO LET EVERYONE KNOW...WE WIILL SUSPEND OF MONTHLY MEET-N-EAT GATHERINGS FOR THE MONTHS OF JANUARY AND FEBRUARY DUE TO THE USUALLY INCLEMENT WEATHER DURING THAT PERIOD AND THE EMBARASSMENT IT BRINGS TO OTHER CAR OWNERS WHEN THEY SEE THE SMART CARS PASSING THEM THRU THE SNOW...SO WE SHALL PICK THEM UP AGAIN IN MARCH...HOPE TO SEE YOU THEN.
