@clicker. I'm very glad that one of the new dealerships is in St. Charles, especially since I picked up my used 2008 red Cabrio last night from Toyota of Naperville. Besides the convertible, the upgrades from my (crashed) 2009 Passion include the better radio (6 CD) and heated seats.
They ended up only having two cars for the parade. It was me and one other guy. Unfortuately it was a last minute plan for them, so none of us got any notice, lol. I'll ask them if they want to do the same theme next year and try to let you guys know in July if it's a go :)
My drop top has been up and down and up and down for two years with no issuestet. As long as you make sure you hear two clicks when you put back the side rails all will be fine.
@Itasca Mark, @Chanda--
Yeah, I would have tried to make the parade with more notice, too.
Unfortunately I am "smart-less" right now. I got sideswiped by a Toyota Tundra on 8/18 on the Reagan Tollway in Lisle. My smart kept me mostly safe (gash on head, pulled neck and chest muscles, minor scrapes and bumps), but paid the ultimate price when it smashed into the concrete wall.
However, the insurance paid off nicely, and I'm in the market for a used smart. Got my eye on a 2008 convertible.
Any comments from convertible owners about problems with the top? Any special maintenance? Problems with operation, reliability, or sturdiness?
This group may grow. 2 more smart centers in the Chicago area were just announced on the front page.
Still not help in MN
the parade sounded like fun. I saw some of the parade on TV this morning. Chanda, if they make the offer next year give us at least a week's notice, a month would be better. I'm bettinga bunch of us would be there.
To short of a notice for me.
Unfortunately, the smart does NOT get more than 56.2 miles per gallon! (Except for the electric, which Loeber doesn't sell, and perhaps a few crazy hypermilers.)
