Congrats, Russ!

About the badging, it's 3M automotive grade like Toes said. In hindsight, I like the dental floss idea for the actual badge removal. If you have a roll of duct tape, that will help pull any remaining badge adhesive without affecting the car's finish (I've never used Goop or Goo be gone).

I've gone through a couple of cycles of having to replace the Transformer badging on our two smarts and I'm glad to have the duct tape around. Soon I'll be doing this a third time as I found some metal badges that should be more tolerant of Colorado roads.

Big Congrats Russ! I am happy to post some photos of your car if you would like, but I figured that you would probably want to post your own. Glad that the suprise went well last night, Tia was very excited.  =D

I just got a new green SMART for an early birthday / Christmas present from my wife!  Thank you honey!  She has been scheming about this since July, but kept it secrete from me the whole time!  That had to be driving her nuts...

A big thanks to MB Westminster for helping Tia with her surprise!  Especially thanks to Katie O'neil for her help.  Of course, now the entire dealership was in on it as well...  :-)

I thought these were bolted on.  Sounds like it's a straight forward decal change.  Thanks!

I think it is relatively easy. Chris said to just use a blow dryer and dental floss, then Goop-be-gone (I don't think I have the product name quite right).

I'm thinking about doing this.  How difficult is the replacement?
