A couple of weeks ago I drove from Fort Worth to Abilene in very high winds. Lots of semis passing me as well. Believe me, I could feel the wind gusts; however, the steering is so responsive that I was never blown off the center of my lane. I did see larger cars blown over, though. In fact I had to take evasive action to avoid the dirt and gravel thrown up when a car in front of me went momentarily into the grass median. Actually, having to actually drive a car for a change was really fun. I imagined I was racing at Indy - you've seen those cockpit shots with the steering wheel jiggling back and forth. Okay, yeah, I admit it. I have an overactive imagination. Fun nonetheless.

good morning DFW smart. Just joined the group; I took delivery of my silver w/black smart on Valentine's Day at the Fort Worth center. Last week I drove him to Albuquerque because I'm working there for the next couple if months. It was such a comfortable ride for a long road trip. Looking forward to the drive back in May.

Hello, Patty & Paul. If you don't absolutely require extra seating for a third and fouth person, the Smart is vastly superior to the Prius! My Prius owner friends tell me that the battery used by the Prius is constantly causing trouble, and when you need to replace that battery (yearly, in their experience) you're spending another grand..... PLUS. And that road handling is faulty, much of the time. The Smart, primarily by Mercedes, has quality galore. And a solid company backing it's every its every nut and bolt. And if you park the Prius next to a Smart, the Smart instantly gleams forth quality and class. I have 4 Doctor friends who have a Prius, and they constantly complain that their Prius is nowhere near the class and comfort of a Smart. So I've taken their advice and am impatiently awaiting my Smart "Blue Heaven". Let me know how you proceed; I'm pulling for you however you go! Dr. Stephen Clark
