I created this group for a place for fellow members to post a blog after an event to share what took place.

JULY 4TH 2011-PARADE in TAVARES
Better late than never.
Loretta took spice and I took Anna's Tink to Tavares Florida to participate in the towns annual July 4th Parade and Fireworks. It was a sunny (read that as Hot) day, but that didn't slow us down or dampen our spirit. We traveled the 10 block loop with the crowd waving the Flag and we waved back. I had no clue how much fun that would be. Much more fun than the normal greet, eat and run type events of the past. We did learn a few things though. Bring a cooler with Ice and water, folding chairs and even a popup shade if possible.
After the parade most of the 13 cars headed off on their own. About five cars went down to Wooten Park by Lake Dora to get some shade, a cool drink and socialize a bit. Then Loretta and I went to the 'dock' with Robert Barr, who came up from Sarasota with his Wife and their Dog 'Puck' (named after the Puck in Shakespeare) we were all 'blown away' with how long and good the show was for a small town. We could see the other Fireworks from all the other towns around the lake as well. Robert and family stayed over in Tavares and We took Tink and spice back to DeLand.
I will be there next year if we get the chance. Maybe we'll find another parade to join in the Jacksonville area in the meantime.
Overall on the score of 1 to 10... I'll give it a eight and a half. Could have been a 10 if I'd been more prepared (a 10 for the fireworks and parade).
