I bought a 2009 Used Smart Car from a dealer that had 6700 miles on it 3 years ago. It now has 12,000 miles on it and the engine light came on. I took it to dealer only to find out that it needs the Fuel Sensors replaced on top of gas tank! They are plastic, and where out often. With no warranty on it the cost is over $1200.00 to repair!! It requires dropping the engine out....Good Grief! I have only driven the car 6000 miles!
New to the group and I am from southern NH. Anyone else from that area? Bought a 2008 last year (2013) and has been good, but this year I had to replace the muffler, right coil spring and 2 front tires. Expensive, but great for tooting around town.
That is the best thing about our cars, they are just so much fun! You really need to come to the 2013 smart Car National Convention to really get a taste of what the smart community is like as well! http://www.smartusainsider.com/events/smart-car-nationals

Wanted to let everyone know that in 2013, Colorado is hosting the SMART Nationals. This will be the second National event, the last one being in Kansas City, MO in 2010. We're just getting started, but you can keep in touch via Facebook.
