Hi Everybody,

Today I brought "Karl" in for the first 10,000 mile service at the Lynnfield, MA smart center, which included a synthetic oil & filter change and cabin carbon air filter change. With labor and disposal of the old "oil" it was $314.00, so please budget accordingly. I would not recommend changing oil any earlier than the manual recommends as it only throws away good oil an adds to the hazardous material waste stream.

Please budget accordigly.

At the rate I am going, I will be lucky to hit 5,000 miles by my one year mark. Am I required or just advised to change the oil at that time? Perhaps I should read my waranty... :->

Wish we did more fun runs in Rhode Island...!
I thought the Mobile 1 weight was a special weight; not typically stocked in stores (this is my first car with synthetic oil). Also I located some youtube movies showing how to do some of this maintenance yourself. I wouldn't be doing this myself as I had a hard enough time figuring out how to take off the hood to get to the windshield washer fluid filled! I couldn't find it in the manual (I actually looked!) and couldn't remember what the salesperson told me. I called the dealer and the mechanic sounded defensive, like I didn't have any business accessing this panel!!
