For those that have lost track of where the smart CARolinas' web site is, it is in the process of moving. You can now find it on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/smartcarolinas) or on the web (http://smartcarolinas.digitalgreenman.com/). The web location has an event calendar, basic message base, and a newsletter. If you want to sign up to have the newsletter delivered, go to the web site and click the "send a message" link, and include your name and email address.

Fellow NCsmarts: I just bought my first set of replacement tires and front disc brake pads & rotors at ~42K miles from smart Center Cary. I'm happy with that level of durability. The key to low wear is to anticipate stops, go easy on the brakes, and keep your tires slightly overinflated vs. manufacturer specs. Also,  Jiffy Lube has told me that they now stock the smart oil filter for those oil change intervals when you can't make it into a smart Center.  I'll probably use them once my 2008 is outside the extended 4 year warranty.

Okay, NC smarties - fall is here, and that means stuff to do!  We have a "maintenance day" planned for next Saturday (Oct 8) (clutch actuator lube, plus other things, as requested), place and time TBD, we have a drive up to Victory Junction, with a tour of the facility included (plus lunch, provided by the Junction), in Randleman, NC on Nov 6, and three holiday parades scheduled.  For more information immediately, log on to the smart CARolinas web site (http://smart-carolinas.socialgo.com/) and check the events.  I will try to get everything posted here, as well.

Hey Suzan... follow smart owner, Buffy Anderson, told me she takes hers to Bob King!  Although not a smart dealer, they have the mercedes/smart computer.  Boy, what a relief not to have to drive to Cary anymore!

That oversized license plate frame could cost you extra money starting Wednesday in North Carolina. (12/01/10)

Among several motor vehicle laws going into effect Dec. 1 is a regulation that the plate frames not obscure any printed material on license plates. That includes the numbers and letters, the state name, and even the number and month on registration renewal stickers.

Breaking that law carries a $100 fine.
