I saw that too, doesn't really interest me. I haven't heard about the Picking yet, too early.We're having a get-together in Williamsburg on Feb 11 at the Wasabi restaraunt if you're interested. Just lunch at 12:30, no rides although Elaine & I might do some outlet mall crawling before. It's Girl Scout Cookie pickup day and we're going to help out our daughter after lunch, she's cookie chairman for her troop.

Art, The new drive does sound interesting. There is another event at Watkins Glenn road course that has caught my eye. A New York smart car group is planning this Watkins Glenn meeting in July. We would drive on this famous road course on a Saturday afternoon. NASCAR uses this track also. And it is 382 miles from Virginia Beach. If  you hear about the strawberry picking event let us know.

Hi Everyone,  Visited the new Tysinger Dealership recently.   Wow!  What a difference.   I signed up for the platinum valet service too.   Very nice touch, saves me a lot of time...   I could get used to this sort of treatment.  :)

scot, I will definitely ask about the meeting days and times.. I don't drink wine but I'm sure it would still be a fun way to meet other smarties, if we could get some more interest in it here and possibly on SCOA

Tysinger is promoting themselves by changing the license brackets. They want smarts at the monthly meeting to help sell smart cars. Claudia, while you are there try to find out more (dates, times) about the winery meeting. The Willamsburg Winery is just off route 199

art, we also bought mine at carmax but we just perked the carmax decal off and took the plate frames off. I'd like to have tysinger brand things as well, since that's Gizmo's new service home from now on.

scot, is the tysinger meeting open to any smart? i'd love to attend. I have an appointment at tysinger this weekend, so I guess I can ask there about it as well.

Wonder if they'd do mine, originally bought in Maryland, I bought it new in Newport news at carmax. My '09 was bought at checkered flag though, the wife drives that one. I'd really like to get uncarmaxed.

Went to Tysinger Mercedes today to apply for future loaner car. Met the smart car salesman, Mike Collins and the smart car service rep, Brett Whitney. They took our car in the shop and changed the license bracket from Checkered Flag to Tysinger and removed the CF logo and replaced it with the colorful Tysinger logo which has the Mercedes' logo in it. There were 8 or 9 smart cars in the shop for various reasons. While Mike said it would take 30 minutes, 90 minutes was closer. However it was great to meet other smart owners and the coffee was much better than CF served. Tysinger has car meeting at the Williamsburg Winery once a month and Mike would like to see us there.

We went to Tysinger's today, they seem to really want to help the smart drivers. They have 10 new smarts from Checkered Flag and expect 12 more by October. Service & parts are in a building behind the showroom, smarts will be serviced along with the Mercedes. The mechanics like working on the smarts, easier than the M/Bs they say.

10-4, It's fairly easy to get to, I-64 to exit 161 (I think) get off at Magruder Blvd and keep on it until you see it on the right. It's not that far on Magruder. coming from Williamsburg way  you get off onto Hampton Center Parkway and then get off onto Magruder.
