Hello Smarter Utah!

 

I bought my previously owned 2009 BRABUS last October, but had some health issues come up that kept me busy.  After getting back on my feet, I started checking around the Internet for a local club or users group of smart owners.  Ruben let me know about Smarter Utah, so here I am!  I look forward to sharing a passion for this quirky little car with other Wasatch Front owners.

Okay, I recieved my confirmatioin letter last week. According to smartUSA, my DDE is Aug/Oct 2009, but I was under the impression that,from confirmation to delivery was 90 days. What has been your experiencs?

For those of you that have cars. where do you have warantee work done. Is there anywhere( SLC or North)closer?

Hi! I just picked up my Smart on Jan. 30th, 2009. I am so happy. I reserved it in August of 2007. I am getting a lot of looks and laughs as I drive around Salt Lake. It's a lot of fun.

Steve, I saw your car a few weeks ago, I'm sure, at the intersection by Will's on canyon road in Provo. I rec'd an email last week to finalize my order. I called Smart and they indicated it would be about 5 to 6 months beyond finalization for delivery. I can live with that.

Good looking set of wheels Steve. We are very happy for you and somewhat jealous. However, Our day is coming, don't know when but it is coming. Until then we will envy those who have their Smarts and impatiently wait for ours.

It finally happened on 8/22/08!! I took the day off work and picked up my smart and showed it off to friends and family all day long. It has been mine now for about a week and a half. I love it! It's been so much fun. I've only filled up once so far, it cost 32.00 to fill up and I averaged about 37 MPG on the first tank the fuel savings are already starting to add up, and I'm still in the break in period, so even better mileage is expected later on.

I wish I was able to get to the meet and greet on Sunday, but Sunday's are usually pretty busy for me. Maybe next time. :-)

BTW, I'm a PC user.

I put my $99 down the very first day they were taking deposits. I was one of the very first to take delivery, in February. Whoever has to drive farthest drives the smart. I'd say our gas usage is down 60% from before the smart days. I ride a motorcycle in the good weather and my wife works mostly from home. Even still, at $4/gallon we plan our driving more carefully.

And for those keeping score, we use a Mac. :-)

Blue/black Passion with leather, MP3/6CD, A/C, P/S, heated seats. I didn't get the fog lights, accessory gauges or car alarm.
