Anyone doing the 28th street cruise this year? I went last year and it was like they had never seen a smart before(and it rained again!)

I am at Loeber's in Chicago right now for my 20,000 mile service and I just found out that the dealership is interested in hosting a send-off party for those going to the Nationals. If there is enough interest I'll set something up with them for Wednesday morning,June 9th so we can all leave from here.
Please chime in BEFORE June 1st so I can let them know.

That sounds like fun. Once we're closer to August I'll see if I can make it.

LET'S DO THIS! (I love Family Guy!)-Cliff
......are you going to the nationals?

Hello Sandra and Cliff –

Since both of you have generously offered to marshal the smart owners in Chicagoland for any Auto Show related activities I wanted to bounce a few ideas off of you.

smart USA will be street teaming and conducting test drives at various locations throughout Chicagoland immediately following the Auto Show. We will be in the area for two to three weeks. We may start test drives on the last Saturday of the show (February 20th) outside the convention center.

Below are a list if ideas that I would like to see if you think the owners group may want to be involved with:

1. Helping conduct test drives outside of McCormick Place on Saturday, February 20. This would involve bringing your vehicles down to the Auto Show. We are looking to see if we can get permission/permits to stage vehicles in front of the center. We think this would make a great visual and would allow people coming into the show to talk with owners. We will use company cars for test drives.

2. We are also considering a group lunch, for owners, at a nearby restaurant. Again, we are looking to great a little buzz about the car and our upcoming marketing events.

3. The final idea would involve a owners parade to Grant Park or another downtown location for an ice skating party/event.

We have not finalized any idea yet. I wanted to get some feedback from you before we get too far down the road.

The purpose of any event is to engage consumers, allow owners to share their passion for the brand and generate some press for upcoming marketing activities.

Sorry I have been out of touch for a while... life has been pretty crazy including the deaths of my father and mother-in-law last fall.

Still love my Passion and started a post on an installation of my handsfree kit for my iPhone.

Also ran into a parked snow plow in January... I just bounced off of it with no damage to either vehicle (some scratches and a little red paint on the smart fender was all that could be seen)
