you all should note that a bulb to hot will melt or color the lens cover. I did just that a few decades back to a RV. wanted brighter lights, turned out they were hotter and caused the lens to burn yellow.
OK, that's cool. The older headlight DRLs didn't since they were the low beam lights.....
Well they turn off when your turn the headlights on. I just had them on to show how bright they are when its gets dark.
Thanks, that explains it. But it brings up a good question - why don't the DRLs cut off once it gets dark, as they're only intended for daytime use?
The ones on the left are the optional smart drl's from the dealer. They actually aren't that bright in the daytime but thats how bright they are when it gets dark. The lights on the white smart are the cheap $15 eBay ones and they aren't as bright in the day as the other ones.
Not sure which is which, but the ones on the left are way too bright for DRLs.
