Talk about a chunk this special one has it all from sat/nav to beefier tires to special rims it's one good looking car. That's the hubby in the shot. Only 1800 were made of this one. I really wanted to bring it home.

Comment by J. Cruz on August 8, 2012 at 1:11pm @John you are doing what you need to do to get it done and that's what counts. Neighbors thought I was nuts the first time the leaf blower came out to dry the (other show) car. After I California blade it (large squeegee) then out come the car specific white towels and the leaf blower. I live in San Antonio TX this time of year the electric leaf blower is like a blow dryer blowing hot air. You can get all the nook and crannies without touching it, less scratches that way and finish it off with the towels. I've got a long long car show past so taking the wheels off to clean em ? Ain't a big thing around here. You have the advantage though you are in the same area as Drew Moore. He's a Formula 113 dealer. Talk about easy to work with ? WOW !!! The spray wax is fantastic and leaves the car looking wet. Then there is the follow up detailer, wheel cleaner, the list goes on and on. I swear by the stuff and the car wash & wax is fantastic. I do wheel wells, suspension, remove the hood and wipe all that down. The interior stuff is as good as it gets. Drew does lots of shows and I've been using the stuff for a while and great results every time. Now who in their right mind dries wheel wells with white towels ? Drew is a heck of a nice guy as well.
Oops that was another long one. Sorry, my bad. Have fun this summer with yours. I do most of the picture posting on face book. I need to post the same pix here I guess.
Have a great day !!

I don't have a driveway, or a spigot for a hose, and no "self serve" car washes around here. I've been washing ours with 1 gallon jugs of water. I use about 6 gallons, doesn't include the windows.
Comment by J. Cruz on August 8, 2012 at 9:33am Yes John Mercedes is one of the "few" that actually has a car wash that can locate my car. I ran it through one at one point in time where the hubby goes and for a quick wash does a good job and gave that one a shot. What a disaster. Apparently there was a cattle trailer in front of me since when I was finished I had more mud, crud and who knows what else on the car, under the car and it took me one full day to get the car my clean. Wheel wells, underside, rims etc. Mercedes does it as a perk of buying the car from there. Being an authorized Smart Center it would be bad mo-jo if they didn't have a wash that fit our cars. I even took it to one of those large chains and it too was not washed just wiped down. There went $30 for nothing. I may be old and slow but I know how to wash & detail a car. I do a much better job anyway.
If I didn't have my flags on the car or when I get tired of them and peal em off.....I want like a body wrap on the cell only of flames. Paint is good too. If you opt to do it please post pix. It would be cool to see.
@George: I'm not sure on the numbers. I heart at one point it was 1800 in the US. Will be fun to see who ends up with the special one. Wish it was me !!
Comment by John Knoernschild on August 8, 2012 at 9:15am Looks great! Now I'm thinking about repainting my safety cell.
So your dealer has a car wash?
I read somewhere that a total of 120 Sharpreds were available for the US. One hundred coupes and twenty cabrios.
