About Me: Hi, I purchased my first Smart for my wife as a gift on our 26th wedding anniversary on May 8th. She let me drive it the following week and I had to have my own. So, I purchased a 2nd one. So we have a “his and hers” Smart, a yellow one and a silver one. As an engineer, I must tell you these are great cars.

A week after the purchase of the first one, I was rear-ended by a Ford F-150. The truck was a 2001 with a grill guard. Both air bags went off on the truck and the grill guard was bent. However, the Smart only sustained minor damage to the bumper. I was amazed the as to the damage to the truck and the little damage to the Smart. I have always been a truck owner and still am, however, I have a new found respect for the Smart Engineering.
