Hey Andy, saw your comment on the front page of still waiting. Don't give up your reservation. A lot of people don't know is that you will get your car within 3 to 4 weeks after the beginning of your DDE. Yours is 11/8 you should expect your car the beginning of Dec. A month before I got my car my DDE slipped almost a month and 1/2. Don't get frustrated, it sucks waiting but it is worth the wait. I have had my car for 2 months, and it is so much fun to drive, hang in there.
Hi Andy...Just joined the group...I picked model/color/options over a month ago and have not gotten anything more specific than a 3 month window (Dec 08 to Feb 09) for delivery...Does next info come from smartUSA or dealer?...Very excited about getting my car...Having some difficulty with the waiting...Thanks ...Dave G. from Ohio
Hey, Andy. I traded in my 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier Z24 convertible for my smart. Kelley Blue book says it's worth about $3200 in "good" condition with 93,000+ miles on it. I took it to CarMax and had it appraised the night before I picked up the smart, and CarMax said they'd give me $2500 for it. The smart Center originally offered $1500 as a trade-in, but when I told them never mind, I'd sell it to CarMax for $2500 they came back with a $2500 trade-in. So yes, I would say they offered a pretty stingy trade-in originally.
I have a Toyota Celica I was going to trade in and they were going to give me $3,500.00 Kelly blue book said $5,200.00. I just sold it today and I got $6,000.00 for it. Don't do a trade in, they would have given me about half of what I was asking for.
