My favorite things about smart
It's uniqueness and the fact it is so darn cute!
About Me
I am the mom of two grown and married children who thought I was nuts for getting a smart. The jokes on them at $4.17 a gallon! I work full time and drive a lot and smart just makes it fun to get to where I have to be. I love the convertible.
My smart's name
First inclination was "Maxwell" but I am certain that will be well used. Perhaps Buzzy because it is yellow and black. Not certain yet. I will come on it's own, I am sure.

New Arm Rest

Posted on January 9, 2009 at 6:16pm 7 Comments

Hey everyone. I finally got my new armrest installed last weekend! It is great and matches the black leather seat perfectly. It attached with two bolts and is nice and sturdy. I got it from Smarty Parts. I missed having one and now it is like it was always there.

How are you all doing in the snow? I have let Maxwell rest for the most part and am driving big brother with all wheel drive. I sure miss the warmth and the convertible! Any snow stories out there?

Traffic Stopper!

Posted on August 31, 2008 at 9:52pm 2 Comments

Well, this is a first! I was waiting to make a right turn onto a rotary circle and the car coming around the circle began to stare at Maxwell! He wouldn't take his eyes off of us and the next thing I knew, he slammed into the curb and jumped up on the grass! He sat there a few minutes and then drove back off the curb and pulled to the side of the road. I felt so bad that we caused him to have trouble. I finally turned the corner and slowly approached him as he assessed the damage to his Honda.… Continue

My New Plate!

Posted on July 8, 2008 at 9:49am 3 Comments

I got my new plate yesterday and got it on quickly. I posted that and also posted a picture taken at Bloomfield smart Center in Michigan. Do those cars belong to any of you? I just loved seeing all of them together! I am over 1500 miles and really love driving my smart. It is just such a joy to jump in and go!

People are getting used to seeing me now and the questions are becoming a little less. But I still get asked what it is and how many miles per gallon does it get? Luckily, I do love… Continue

I finally turned 1000!

Posted on June 18, 2008 at 6:01pm 4 Comments

Well, today was the day and I am now past 1000 miles. I am now past my break-in period, whatever that means. MIsmart is running really well, and loves to get out and fly down the road. I continue to be asked questions all the time and the #1 is, "Where do you plug it in?" They all think it is electric for some reason. #2 "Aren't you afraid to drive on the freeway? Don't the big trucks blow you over?" I can't wait to bump into a fellow smartie and pass along that knowing smile and thumbs up!… Continue

Followed all Through Town!

Posted on June 16, 2008 at 9:34pm 0 Comments

Well, the salesman told me that owning a smart would be like being a rock star! People would pay attention to me and gather round the smart. He was certainly right about that! I was followed through town and when I got to my destination, the car following me came right up behind me, and the lady driving said, "Hey we need to ask you some questions about your car. I am from the paper and we want to do an article on you and your new car!" The next week a half page article and a wonderful picture… Continue

We would love to see you there!

The event page should have some details including a link for directions.

Here is a link for google maps. Click on it and then choose directions and enter your starting address to get custom directions. Looks like we will have a few people there.

We actually were on I69 this weekend. Went to Indy to see family so we took 80/90 to 69 and went south. We did not drive the smart because we had to take others (bummer)

small world isn't it? There were lots of things I loved about Michigan, sleeping weather being one of them, but the last winter I was there (in Grand Rapids getting my master's degree) we got 12 inches of snow over night at least twice. I had not garage and no more wish for snow. Now, being in Texas for 16 years, I miss it (but don't tell my family, they want me back and I want them here, and since I have the most children they should move here). Happy trails!

Hey Barb, I grew up outside of Lansing in a little town called Grand Ledge. Now I live outside of Austin. My mom still lives in Lansing and I'd love to tell her about winter smart driving once you get the experience. She's 70 and drives a Jag, not wealthy just lucked into a really good used deal.

Hi Barb,
Thanks for asking.. That dash is from a 1993 RX-7 Twin Turbo, I got it from my RX-7 club, since it looks so cool I decided to post it here.
Regards,
Mike
