I am a member of the Disney Vacation Club; Slow Spokes Bicycle Club and the Stoney Creek Running Club. I work as an engineer for Chrysler LLC. Also an adjunct faculty instructor at Oakland Community College plus I am a former SCUBA diver and former skydiver.

I like to run. When I participate in any running events, I can be seen wearing my custom-made "Mr Incredible" costume.

10th Annual Cruisin' Downriver - MI

On Saturday evening, June 27, 2009 my wife and I headed to the 10th Annual Cruisin' Downriver and WHAT an experience... and will not be going back again!

The plan was to cruise up and down Fort Street a few times and dinner at a local restaurant. Well… some of it did happen. Bike Rack Projects - Single and Tandem

I have finished my bike rack projects for my smart car. After my 1st prototype to design one rack to hold either a tandem or a triathlon bike. I decided to make 2 bikes racks, one for the triathlon bike and another for the tandem bike.

Now I am going one step further, I figured out a way to carry two bikes on the back by only adding a couple of pieces.

Stage 3 - Bike Rack Concept

It's almost complete after a redesign. My first concept and prototype was to have one bike rack to accommodate two different bikes, triathlon and a tandem bicycle. I found a couple of flaws in the prototype so back to the drawing board or the computer in my case and I finally worked out all the kinks.

Stage 2 - Bike Rack Concept

I have fabricated the bracket to accommodate the RockyMounts bike rack. So far I have invested $7.50 for the 18" of 5/8 - 8 ACME Threaded Road, $272.00 RockyMounts Tandem R4 Bike Rack, $4.00 5/8 - 8 ACME Nut (qty 2); $15.62 for 1" OD x .625 ID x 5 LG for Spacer Pipe & 1/4 x 4-1/4 x 15-3/4 plate. $10.00 for 1-1/8 OD x 5/8 ID x 4-1/4 LG Steel Tubing.

Found the smart under the snow...

Well I finally dug "Squirt" out from under the snow. The first major snowstorm she was tucked away in the garage. During the last snowstorm she got caught outside. Tax deduction???

Since it is tax time, and I bought my Smart in 2009, I was wondering if anyone knows of a tax deduction they have received since purchasing their Smart. I remember something early in 2009 about the government giving a tax rebate/deduction (of some sort) to vehicles that are good on gas consumption. Well, my little Smart has been averaging approximately 59-61 mpg. Yes, you read that right. I am not talking about the cash for clunker program that has since been gone for a long time. Hi Jill ! I've got the answer to your advertising scenario. I'm a 6'1" tall 320 Lb. man who has very comfortably circumnavigated the entire USA with my 87 year old Mom!
