My key got washed in the laundry. It wont open or lock the doors remotely, but it will still start the car. You can lock it from the inside before you get out and unlock it via the little hidden keyhole on the driver side…

I finally had mine replaced. I think it was closer to $200 for everything but I would have to check. I would check around with other dealers, that is outrageous. Maybe go back to your salesperson and grind on them.

I lost my key over a year ago, when I called about replacing it it was $500 for the keyfob & computer chip and synicing it all.

the smart dealer in lincolnwood il has keys for 210.00 and then another 100.+ to code it

I have it all, and everything fits in the tailgate compartment. + an old coat and the MB First Aid kit, which can come in handy.

- Fell in love when I saw a trio of Smart cars in downtown Seattle in May 2005. Saw more of them in Frankfurt during a trip in 2007. I love them! I have always had a thing for tiny cars ever since I saw my first bug-eyed Sprite.

We are all getting ready for the Saturday, April 18th Smart Celebration in Lynnfield. The event will be from 11am to 4pm. Every Smart car gets a free car wash! Great food, raffles, awards for "favorite Smart" and "greatest distance traveled". Have your name put on your car. The names can be either "SMART" font or "Script", and colors can be silver or black. Simply let me know what you want on your car and I will put the order in. This is "FREE" and provided by Sign Art. The names will be 3/4" and put on the driver's upper door just below the window, send info for passenger's door also if you want. Lets make this a great Celebration with all of our Smart friends. The weather will be sunny and 63 so make sure you come by. Bring a friend, anyone interested in Smarts, take a test drive. No matter where you purchased your Smart, you are always welcome at All Mass Smart Car Events. We have to pass on great thanks to Herb Chambers, Mark Hoch, Gil Otero, Grace Cosco and the entire Smart Lynnfield team for their support. A lot of you folks ask about the Mercedes Badge on my car, I will have a cost for you next week and its a 10 min install. Check out my Page and Pics to see the Mercedes Badge located under the license plate. Please RSVP even if you can't make it, we would like to keep everyone in the Smart site loop.
