"i think it's DONE ON PURPOSE to prevent easy access to the back. Maybe they think, oh we'll make it harder for them to pull the seat down so they don't get used to putting people back there like a Porsche 944."

"Although, either way you look at it, i still find it much easier to access the cargo area by opening the rear hatch....."

"Because of the airbags, you can't switch the seats. I've found that you just have to prepare ahead of time when you are going to flip down the passenger seat, and do it before you get out of the car."

"Sato: Well... he'd still have the airbags in the seat backs..... they'd just serve as a means of keeping the driver and passenger apart from each other rather than shielding anything coming from the door."

"I was told the design put as much towards the interior of the car so that (supposedly) ess would have to be repaired/replaced if the event of a crash. If you are talking about recline the seat entirely, I would suggest doing so from the opposite…"

"Then your air bags in the seat backs would blow out in the middle of your car. Bad move. The front to back seat release lever would be in the way of getting in and out of the car too. The pass air bag off switch would be in the driver's seat…"

I just test-drived smart passion.
And it felt like brake is very hard.
Doesn't smartcar have a power-brake?
Most car in these days have a power-brake.
It felt like driving car in 80'.

My smart doesn't have a hard brake, nor did the one I test drove. Very weird!
