"Yea... it probably has something to do with both the angle of the glass, as well as the thickness. that's one thick pane of glass they use for the windshield."

Lucky Break

This morning while driving to work someone sped past me in the next lane and kicked a rock up at my windshield. I saw the rock at the last second but there was nothing I could do. At first I was startled no one likes to hear that sound when the rock hits the windshield but right after that I cussed and started to glance at the passenger side where it had struck to see how big the crack was. This was a really good size rock I was surely expecting to see a nice size crack that looked like a huge…See More

"I'm fine with people looking in my Smart and asking me questions I'll even let them sit in it if they are nice but I too have had to use the panic button when I was coming out of a store and saw someone who was trying to open the passenger…"

Novelty Itemes

Driving with a friend the other day I saw a Smartie go buy and as it did I saw the coolest novelty item on the back was a wind up key that actually turned. My friends started screaming she wanted to catch up and ask where they got it so I could get one for my Smartie but we never did get past grandma in front of us.

After that we started talking about cool little things to put on Smarties one good one was a spare tire on the back (like SUV's have) but instead of a tire put a Tonka… Continue

I saw a police officer drive by my office really slow and my boss told me he was sitting behind my Smart for a few minutes. All I could figure was he was running the tag to make sure it was legal. About 30 minutes later I need to run out and sitting in the turn lane of the main road was the same officer. I was stopped at a light and he pulled up next to me and started asking me questions. Of course he had to ask "What would you do if you got hit by a semi in that?" I just looked at him and said… Continue

I was so excited when I got the call from the dealer telling me they had an orphan Passion Coupe I shouted into my phone "I WANT IT". I didn't even ask what color it was or what options it had on it all I knew was in a few hours I would finally have my Smart Car. As soon as I hung up the phone I called my husband and told him to take his lunch break (it was 10am) and tell the boss he was taking a long one. He came and got me about 30 minutes later and we went downtown Atlanta to the only… Continue

Your comment makes more sense than the others I received. Common conceptions makes people think that, the smaller the car, the slower it goes. I guess they just have to find out for themselves. Maybe I'll take others' advice and slow down even further, since it doesn't make a difference what speed you're going.

I only paid about $49 for the smart car all weather floor mats which I currently use. Their is also a carpet version of this floor mat for about the same. You could also use universal floor mats you can pick up at any auto parts dealership. My friend did that to his smart and it looks pretty good, but for the best fit, use the ones smart recommends. I can't see them being the amount that you told me they were, but I only paid $49. Also, smann makes a pair for about $85 that is custom made just for the smart. You can find it at http://www.smartune.net
