The five minutes of fame is now in its fifth week. I wonder what the attention level would be if gasoline had stayed under $2.50.
One safety upgrade that the SMART needs is a set of jump points under the 'hood'. The thought of having to jumpstart this vehicle with the battery in the compartment is daunting at best and a dangerous design at worst. Remote jump points are common, the addition would not add significant weight and would be a major safety point.
Apart from that, it needs cruise control, which would also improve mileage.
All the above accepted, I am still tickled with it, although I am becoming of hearing 'CUTE'.
