We first saw the Smart Car when I was in Italy setting up a new office back in February, 2006. Decided right then that we were going to get one when they came to the US. Was waiting for a dealer in our town but couldn't wait any longer after seeing them again at the Chicago Auto Show. Drove 225 miles to Lake Bluff, IL on Friday the 13th and brought this one home. We had originally picked out another one but, as soon as we saw it, we had to have the one with flames.

Hey, if you get some free time we are trying to get as many Iowans to place a marker on our Iowa Smarties map. Just type in your address at the top and If you put your e-mail address in the message box it will show on the map. Yes, the drive in movie will be the pinnacle part of it for me. as long as the weather is nice of course. Can you imagine over 70 smarts in the grassy field waiting for the movie to begin!

Just got the plates today. I still need to apply for personalized ones. Haven't decided what they should say yet. Any ideas? So far I've narrowed it down to ITIBITI, IRSMART and SMART2. They all seem pretty lame, though, and I keep hearing about others named ITIBITI.

Yeah - Sure do. We took it from Iowa to Tennessee last week. Heading down I24 in Paducah, KN a car pulled along side of us and stayed there. When I looked over, the lady in their passenger seat was taking pictures through the driver's window. I've had people hanging out of their rolled-down windows trying to get a better look as I was passing by. Love it! Anyway, I've had the car three weeks and already have over 2,200 miles on it.
