Just a quick update to note that the other day I received letter from Jill Lajdziak, President of Smart USA, acknowledging my blog entry above. I mention this not just because I'm flattered (I am) and appreciate the gift she included (thanks!)…

Smart Car, Smart Relationship Marketing

http://www.tendocom.com/view/smart-car-smart-relationship-marketing-1917"Relationship marketing done well should build brand affinity. The goal is to facilitate both word-of-mouth evangelism and a propensity for repurchase. But like Maui’s scenic Road to Hana, the journey is often more interesting than the destination. Take the Smart car, for example...." -- DavidV See More

Hi David!

My name is natty and I see you're from my home state of Cali (although I'm currently living in NY right now). :)

anyways, I've been trying to find more participants from the Menlo Park area to take my Smart Car owner survey. This is for a marketing strategy plan that I have to do for one of my classes at Fordham University. It'll only take a few minutes and my group and I would really love to hear from you. :)

Just copy and paste this link onto your browser.

Thanks so much!

Menlo Park....isn't that the home of the Telsa? Have you seen one in action?

The intake and exhaust made a noticeable improvement in gas mileage, that was more or less offset by the reduced gas mileage from the bigger/stickier wheels and tires. The suspension had no discernible impact on mileage.

So, with what I have on done to the car so far, our Smart seems to be back to getting virtually identical MPG to what we saw when it was bone stock, but with added acceleration and dramatically improved cornering/braking capability compared to before.

I hope this helps.

So with all this stuff
Smarter Engine Performance Package (air intake and exhaust combo)
Smarter Performance Handling Package (matched springs and swaybar)
Smarter Brake Lines
Rial 15x6 Wheels with General Exclaim UHP Tires)

how much better gas mileage/performance do you get, and do you consider the expense (I won't ask how much it cost) worth it?

Thanks for your reply. Allen Ray
