Hi Debra, just wanted to let you know, we had lived in Frederick for about 8 yrs from 1986 - 1994. We loved the area, so much History, we lived in Frederick for 3-4 years and then lived up on Bradock Mtn in the old Toll house right on the highway for the remainder of the time we were there. How do you like your Smart car by now? We are loving ours, it is so much fun to drive. Have a great day!

I am surprised that they did not give you a full tank of gas to start with. I thought all new cars came with a full tank.

You will absolutely not be sorry you took on a loan once you take off for the first time in your little Smart. My husband and I both have a Smart (one orphan and one demo) and two car loans!!! We might be crazy but we are having fun and enjoying life! You will save on gas, probably your insurance maybe lower and if you have to pay excise tax yearly in your state that will be MUCH lower. So enjoy, have fun and don't worry.

You will really love your car. I am actually eager to get up each morning so that I can drive my 41/2 miles to work. I get honks, thumbs up, people shout out "I love your car", picture taken, and All kinds of interesting things. If the market is tight, this is an inexpensive car to drive.

Go for it Debra! I'm excited for you and...just think you're not alone...we on the waiting list have also probably thought about the payments, etc. but...we're going for it. Hopefully we will all have our little Smarts pretty soon. Glad to hear you have Liberty Mutual...that's what we have.

Debra, don't fret. I'm a Dr. with no sense at all about money problems. But my wife is a CPA and is probably the smartest person I've ever met about all financial downturns, Her consistent advice is, "Don't panic, and don't worry, and by all means don't cash in any stocks or savings, 'cause we'll see things beginning to smooth out in 3 months, and in a year at the most everything will be back to normal." And OUR Smart is DDEd for 8/09.........grrrrr, SO long. You'll be fine. Just be frugal, and it'll all be O.K. Dr. Stephen
