For those of you interested in participating in the Smartcar caravan for Stamford, CT, St Pat's Parade, here is the information. We will gather at 11:30am in front of UConn's Stamford Campus, West Broad St, across from Target. I am expecting 6-10 vehicles in total. You will need to exit I-95 at Atlantic St, go north 2 blocs to Tresser Blvd, turn left, proceed one block to Washington Blvd, then right onto W. Broad. The Univ is on the corner. The parade begins and noon and should be finished by 1 pm. Pubs will be open for lunch as with the Hibernian Club. Please confirm your attendance via this channel or via email at email@example.com. Erin go Bragh!
Hi Eileen - I couldn't figure out how to let you know of our interest in the St Pat's parade, but George and I are thinking that would be fun. Please let me know if you would want ITSABNZ from NH to join. It would mark our longest ride in the car, but we're up to it. So is there an official sign-up?
Had my car since mid-July and have 3100 miles. Have averaged 40.6 mpg. My driving is probably 35% highway - 65% city. Many of the city trips are 8 to 10 miles at length. On an individual tank basis I've seen mpg range from 31.1 to a max. of 44.3 mpg. Fairly dramatic range from my perspective. Most of my driving has been in the manual mode.
I have had my car for 3 weeks. So far I'm finding I get between 37-39 mpg with mixed driving (about 2/3 local; 1/3 highway). I have also heard you get lower mileage with "manual" driving. Automatic mode is supposed to yield better mileage...goes against common wisdom.
