The way cool look for an economy car. All that room inside for a 5ft 9 guy like myself. It's starting price for a brand new car. The attention from total strangers , fellow Smart owners , fellow co-workers, and friends that it generates every time i drive it. The fun of a two seater without the hiked cost. The supreme gas mileage. Finally, the appeal to my creative side of thinking.
A merchandiser by the daytime, a part time graphic arts student, and cartoonist by the nighttime. I Am also a car buff by reputation and nature. Fell head over heels for the Smart car after the first test ride on May 13, 2008. Dropped a $99.00 reservation fee on a Smart for Two car on May 16,2008 for my Birthday present to me .
I did get the oppurtunity to buy an orphaned Pure in Metallic Blue with a Sliver Tridon shell on July 24th 2008, and have owned it for three years July 24, 2011 . It has air condtioning and a Smart radio which are two options i really wanted in the beginning and the color was what i orginally ordered when the reservation was placed. Since that most memorable day, this little guy has brought back the joy of drivng all over again, and will come up with any excuse to go out in "Mr Blue" even if it is a trip to the grocery store going around the "mulberry bush" to get there. If anybody ever asks if i like my "Smart Car" i will tell them "no i don't like it, I LOVE IT!!!!!"
No I didn't paint them -- it came that way. It's a limited edition "highstyle" -- 130 in Canada. The colour is metallic chocolate brown, so I chose the CHOCULA for the vanity plate. Here's a link describing the highstyle edition:
It's a custom airbrushed paint job so it's the only one like it in the world. Came with the car. One of the paint guys at the dealer does motorcycles on the side and the manager turned him loose on four orphans. The other flame job is on a black one that a fireman bought. There was another white smart where the front end was charred so it looked like it had just gone through re-entry.
