At 9:40am on April 29, 2009, Not so smart said…: Hi Gary, Thanks for that. Now I know it's normal for it not to beep more then once. Mine has the smart security package and will automatically relock the car if I don't open a door with in 25 seconds after unlocking it with the remote. And I also cannot lock the car with the lock button in the car. Only with the remote. I can lock the key in the car with it in the ignition, but only if I use the second remote. This car is something to get used to in allot of ways, but it makes up for it with the fun factor. I will keep mine stock, but will get cruse at some point. I have not decided which one is better yet, the Area 451 or the MDC. This is what's good about getting involved with a car groupe and meetring with other smart owneres like MinneSMARTa. You can learn allot about what works best from other owners. I also have other big vehicles. I sold a 2003 SS Silverado pick up and used the money to buy the Brabus. Almost broke even . I drive a work truck to work and my wife uses the buss or light rail to get downtown to work. So the Brabus dosn't get out much. Thanks again for your comment.

At 11:32pm on April 26, 2009, Not so smart said…: Hi Gary, I kind of consider myself a newbe as well. I got my silver Brabus coupe on Feb 28th, and it just sits in the garage. I only have 148 miles on it now, but did manage to finely get the plates on it so I hope to get it out more.. I missed the last MinneSMARTa rally, but hope to join in next time if it works out. Be fun to meet with other smart owners.

I have noticed something on my car that I think is a change since I picked it up. When I leave my key in the ignition lock and then open the car door, I get only a half a beep from the dash and then it stops. I thought when I first got the car, when I opened the door with the key in the ignition, the dash kept beeping as a reminder that I left the key in the car. How does your car act when you open the door with the key in the ignition ? I don't mean to put you on the spot just asking. Nothing in the manual about it. Thanks for your comment.
