Conversation piece along with the great gas mileage

Hutch, just saw your comment on the COSMOS site that you sold your smart. Sorry to hear you are no longer a smart owner. It was great to meet you. I would be interested in your POP TOP. Let me know if it is still available and then I can call and figure out how to make a transaction work.
Also, I saw on your page that you were talking with Jim Linton about his trailer and hitch. Do you know if he sold it yet? I would be interested in the package as I had already had a few e-mails with him about getting a hitch.
As for using a 4x4 and dealing with mud, I have had some experience with that since I do some off-road 4 wheeling myself. You can see a little of my wheeler in the background of my picture.
Hi Hutch, Well, it looks like the "novelty" is wearing off for quite a few owners. When I look back at my purchase, it was just for "FUN" and i had plenty of that with my smart, BUT it wa beginning to be a burden and that was making the "FUN" go away. I am not sorry about my choice, BUT I will admit that I MISS the my little car at times. I bet we both will do that for a while. I will be sure and look you up when my wife and I come to Pueblo I am looing forward to meeting you.
You take care in all that "WHITE" stuff.
HUTCH, I JUST DECIDED TO LOWER THE PRICE ON THE TRAILER. IF YOU WANT TRAILER ALONE, $900. TRAILER AND HITCH AND EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO HAVE LIGHTS, FOR $1,000. I JUST RENEWED THE REGISTRATION AND THE PLATES ARE CURRENT FOR THE NEXT YEAR. LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE INTERESTED.
Hutch, I know exactly where you are coming from. I will tell you this, though. I was really disappointed when I traded my smart in. Since there are many of them on the lots now, the price on used ones is not as high as I had hoped. I was able to bump my dealer an additional $1,000. That saved me $700 on the sales tax, so as far as I am concerned I sold my smart for $12,200. They are selling used ones on the lot here in San Antonio for $12,995. The old "supply and demand" caught us, I guess. Another reason I went ahead and pulled the trigger was the merger of Chrysler and Fiat. Chrysler is going to bring in the Fiat 850 in next year and it is a really neat car, with a backseat, too. The Transit by Ford is what we purchased and with what we do we can work out of this van and pull a small trailer. Keep in touch with me though. I would like to meet you in person when I come to Pueblo as well. Oh, I was allowed to take all my additons off the smart and have sold most of them. Keep in touch, Hutch
hutch, I do not know if my message made it or not, but I HAVE sold my smart. It was official today. I now have the trailer, the hitch that requires no cutting of the body, the receiver and all the locks to keep it in place. I also have a spare tire for the trailer mounted to the frame and a "space saver" type trire that could be placed on a PURE rim so you could have a spare tire for your smart. I would be willing to sell all for $1,400 if you are interested. Just give me a call or leave me a message here. Thanks Jim
