I have not used them yet, but will next month...should be hitting 20K. I am also hoping the can fix me up with winter tires also. Last year every place I checked were sold out.

Hi Jim,
I saw your post in my email that you were looking for a place closer then Lynnfield. I found a place in Freeport that works on Smart cars. They told me they have been working on imports for years, and they service the Lindt Chocolate bunny smart car (I had to google that one).
I plan to have my 20k service done there, which I am about 1500 away. I posted the link to them above.
I don't care for the service at Lynnfield. Over priced (they charged me $6.00 for wind shield washer fluid-that I had just filled) plus they scratched the black trim on my car when they washed it. Still shows even after I tried to buff out.
I have not asked prices yet, but just saving on the gas, wear and tear and toll booths will be worth it.

Hi Jim,
We just had a small accident with our little "baby". We took it to Herb Chambers collision center in Braintree and they are ordering the panel and parts from Lynnfield. Insurance is paying for it because we were not at fault. It will take about 7-10 days. We don't want anyone but Smart to repair the damage. At least until they become more popular and parts are more available.

Were you looking to replace a panel? If so you currently have to do it through a dealer. I'm not sure if you order anywhere else if your going to get a 1:1 compatibility if you end up with an incompatible panel from an older non-US model. The other reason is color matching.
I've changed every panel on my car. I got a set of black panels when I ordered my car. (It's now black).
The panels are fairly easy to replace. Some more than others. The worst is the rear tailgate because of the wiring harnesses. Next is the door panels (actually the pain here is getting them back on.) Third is the rear quarter panel (in your case) because the rear lights are awkward to deal with but not impossible.

My name is Dave Taylor, my son Jason says he knows you from MBNA, I got a e-mail from the Lynnfield dealer saying that they had received my order, What kind of time fram am I looking at.
I had first sent my reservation in reserving one just like yours but when I finalized my order I changed it to all black with red interior. I didn't want to get the same color.

Hey there - thanks for your comment. I do 95% city driving - all stop and go - and very little freeway driving. Also heard from several sources that the mileage will get better once I hit around 1500 miles on the car. In this second week I look to be getting about 40... also have learned how to ease up on the accelerator (The Audi gave me a lot of bad habits, I'm sure :-)) and just take it in stride :-) Makes for a smoother ride, and I'm sure is happier for the car :-)
