Well, in "The DaVinci Code", Tom Hanks and Audrey Tautou have a very harrowing chase scene in her Smart Car through the streets of France. In "A Good Year", the Smart is featured throughout the film…

About Me
Grab a snack, this could take a while…

I am complex. Mercurial. Which means my tastes and desires change from day to day, and sometimes from hour to hour. Some people have found this quality to be intriguing and some just think I’m a big pain in the ass. Either way, I’m certainly not someone that can be pegged easily, if at all.

This characteristic lends itself to some occasional frustration in my professional life; I work in a fairly analytical day job, but underneath it all I really want to be painting and singing and playing the cello and writing. I try to get my creative brain to play nice with my business brain – it makes for some long nights as I get home from the corporate gig and then go to work on my book or sit at the piano for several hours looking for the right chord or the right lyric for the song I’m writing in my head.

I laugh often and loudly. I love whimsy of any kind and will seek it out in sometimes inappropriate situations, such as hospital rooms or funerals. I have no qualms about making fun of myself or making fun of others, and I’m usually the first to blurt out a smart-aleck remark or sexual innuendo… often during business meetings. The people at the office have no idea where I came from, but I smell nice and I work well with the staff, so they keep me around.

I have a great appreciation for wit and intelligence, so the best way to get my attention is to catch me off-guard and say something that makes me laugh unexpectedly. I love all of the absurd, the obscene and the slapstick humor that life has to offer.

On the physical side, I like to think I’m fairly well-preserved for a cancer patient, as well as for a woman of “a certain age…” Actually, I feel I look better now than I did when I was in my 20’s, and even though it’s a lot more work than it used to be, I enjoy going to the gym and challenging myself physically. I have found it’s also the best way to clear my head after sitting at a desk all day and by the time I get out of the gym, my creative juices have taken over.

For those of you who care, I’m 5’ 4-1/2” tall, auburn hair, light green eyes, pale Irish skin with a few random freckles, compact athletic build with decent muscle definition, prominently cheerful breasts, and a great ass, if I say so myself. At the very least, I can pull off a pair of skin tight jeans without feeling self-conscious about it. I also have very attractive feet.

So that’s me, head to toe. If I’ve confused you, don’t worry – you follow a long line of very bewildered people, starting with my parents and ending with the lady that was in front of me at Starbucks this morning.

Maxwell

Smart Stories from Julie's Garage - January 15, 2010

It happened. My nightmare. My Smart car, Maxwell, was hit.

On my way home from work on Wednesday, January 13th, I was in a line of cars waiting for a red light (I was 5th or 6th in line) when I looked into my rearview mirror and saw a car coming up behind me. I could see the top of the driver's head, which told me he was texting!

I watched in horror and realized he wasn't looking up to check the road. 'Crap,' I thought. 'He's not going to stop.' (Actually, it wasn't 'crContinue
