Here's a thought.. If each dealer has a set amount of monthly Smarts, and folks who made reservations bypassed the salesmen's commissions by ordering on line, wouldn't the dealership rather get more orphans, so that the sales team can make better commissions on finding you an orphan and adding options ? What incentive does the dealership have to fill your order ?

I have also read that some people have tracked their car from start to finish. A mystery to me. It has been 3 months since I configured so I am hoping to hear something in the next few weeks, but it might be like you said --- I might not get any word till it is at the dealership. I have been waiting 15 months since I reserved, so I guess I can wait a little longer. Hope you are enjoying your car. Did you get the dealer to add any extras??

Thanks for saying Hi. I too have seen only a few Smarts since I got mine last May. I have talked to a couple owners on line but haven't met any one yet, hope to when the weather improves. At first the dealer said to put a bit of lube in the removable roof rail contact pointed anchors, but that did not seem to work, and now she says smart is looking at that last rib support I mentioned that is not as tight as the others. On the other hand, I understand that convertables are naturally a little more "flexy" and more subject to noises. And the magic mechanism of this top is way cool.
