Just want to log my complaint from my recent 50K service.

 

I've owned my smartcar since December 2008, ordering it in March of 08 and actually getting an 09 model within 9 months.

 

I've had the smart dealer in Chandler, AZ service it every 10K miles.

 

Except for the time I backed into my trash can and broke a rear light, or when I broke the hatch latch by putting a box in and catching it, I've had no issues at all.

had this happen to me today. Kinda standard car wash (and I've been through this one before). After the blower dried the car, I noticed the tire pressure sensor light on. Got back to the office and all tires and caps looked normal. I reset the sensor, and will drive it shortly (and let you know if it goes off again).

anyone else had this happen?

Called yesterday, got an appointment today no problems. $158.80 was the total 10K service, changed the A/C filter inside, took about 90 minutes.



Best part: they practically detailed the car in the process. Looked showroom clean inside and out. Great experience (and free wi-fi too).

It only took my 5 days to burn through the first tank in my smart car. However, that was a lot of driving through the freeway system in and around Phoenix, AZ. First tank results = 42.3 mpg. I'll take it. Beat by more than twice what my other daily driver was doing. I purchased Gas Cubby for my iPhone, so I'll have a really solid accounting of mileage, etc, etc.

On day two of ownership, I had the opportunity (rare) to drive an hour in the rain from Tempe to Cave Creek, AZ. The smart car was amazing. It handled well, loved how much of the windshield was kept clean by the wipers, and cornering/puddle jumping was no problem at all. For such a small, inexpensive vehicle, having anti-lock brakes, traction control, intermittent wipers, plus a cabin that's roomy and comfy with temperature control seems to be unheard of.
